BIO

MILENA GOVICH is a director, actor, and musician who has most recently served as Co- Executive Producer / Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI. She has also directed multiple episodes of FBI: Most Wanted, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, as well as The Equalizer and The InBetween. Milena was selected for AFI's Directing Workshop for Women, Sony Diverse Directors Program, Universal Directors Initiative, and is a recipient of the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant. Her pilot presentation, Unspeakable, was nominated for Best Independent Episodic at SXSW and won Best Episodic at Seattle International and SoHo International Film Festivals. Her short film, Temporary, has played all over the country, winning Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest, and the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival.

 

As an actress, Milena has appeared in close to 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey, then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (Denis Leary/FX). She also starred in the Dick Wolf series Conviction (NBC), which led to her role as the first and only female detective on the Emmy winning series, Law & Order (NBC). She has recurred on numerous other shows: K-Ville (FOX); The Defenders (CBS); Make It or Break It (ABC Family); and as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama, Finding Carter. Milena has also appeared in several movies, including Sordid Things, A Novel Romance, starring opposite Steve Guttenberg, Pass the Light, #Lucky Number, starring opposite Method Man, and the features Closure and The Cleaner.

 

A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of her high school before completing a double major in vocal performance and pre-med at the University of Central Oklahoma, also graduating valedictorian. Soon after, she appeared on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production of Cabaret at Studio 54. She began in the role of Lulu, featuring her singing, dancing, and playing the violin, and was the understudy and eventual replacement for the lead role, Sally Bowles. Milena also performed on Broadway in the musical revival of The Boys from Syracuse, and the Beach Boys musical Good Vibrations. She starred as Millie in the first regional production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, and starred in the title role of Sweet Charity at The Lyric Theatre.

 

Milena resides in Los Angeles and is developing TV/film projects with her husband and producing partner, writer David Cornue.
